2022 online art course

During this 4 part course, we will develop skills with gouache’ paints as well as a mixture of other mediums to create pieces based on, you guessed it a variety of flowers, fruit and foliage inspiration. All 4 classes are for all abilities including complete beginners and are guided from start to finish so why come along and we can paint together virtually!

See below the details of each of the 4 sessions:

1.Flowers - Wednesday, 12th 7:00pm-8:30pm

During this class, we'll really  the beauty and versatility of the medium of gouache, we will create loose florals with heavily watered down gouache and then we'll work with the medium in a much thicker consistancy and add a 2nd layer of linear detail.

2.Fruit - Wednesday, Oct 12th, 7:00 - 8:30pm

Again in this session we will explore the two ways of working with the gouache. We will begin practicing lovely loose lemon shapes and then move onto create our illustration for he session which is  a watercolour affect willow plate filled with opaque lemons shapes.

3.Foliage - Wednesday, Nov 16th, 7:00 - 8:30pm

This week our foliage inspiration will be one of my faves to paint ...bamboo! The combination of the woody stem and curling leaves require different skills with gouache and will be a really fun one for us to explore together.

4.Christmas Special - Hand Painted baubles - Wednesday, Dec 7th, 7:00 - 8:30pm

For the final class we'll use our painting skills to practive festive illustrations including trees and foliage filled wreaths, hopefully you'll love these and create more after the class as these all make for beautiful hand painted Christmas cards to send to friends and family.

Whats included:

4 x 90 minute live zoom tutorials.

4 x Mood boards emailed ahead of each class - if you wish to print these you may do so.

What do I need to participate?:

-As we will be exploring the medium of gouache, a set of gouache paints would be most appropriate however watercolour paints would also be suitable.

-Watercolour paper (a textured or smooth surface will work)

-A variety of sized brushes is always useful however as long as you have a larger brush (size 8/10) and a finer brush size (4/6) then the techniques we will explore in each session can all be achieved successfully.

Further details

You will receive an email a week in advance to each class, this will contain a mood board of imagery to inspire the illustrations for the session as well a colour palette guide of paints to prepare, however the final colours you choose to use is completely up to you.
